9,600 more clicks for a Marketplace in just 2 months (from 1731 leads to 2956📊) + From 5.000 to 18.000 users

Intro

Too often, I see eCommerce businesses without a strategy or tactics suited to their specific model.

People think that getting traffic is the solution, until the client or the person managing the eCommerce realizes that it’s not…

In this case study, I’ll share an experience I had with a medium-sized marketplace.

It was a marketplace with various products that had experienced a complete decline in the previous months.

The site is Nowarc.com.

Objective

  • Acquire and increase the number of resellers publishing products on the eCommerce marketplace.
  • Rank the most important business keywords in the top 1–3 positions.
  • Increase qualified organic traffic.
  • Fix technical issues.

Problems

  • Many competitors with stronger domains were outranking us — including sites like eBay, Etsy, and vertical niche competitors.
  • Traffic was plummeting.
  • We weren’t doing any link building or PR.

What I Did

  1. Conducted an analysis and developed a highly proactive, push-style strategy. Competitors weren’t taking this approach, which gave us an advantage in Google’s eyes.
  2. Planned technical and on-site SEO activities.
  3. Created a strategic plan for content creation and optimization.
  4. Designed a clear template and shared it with the development team — here’s an example.
  5. Leveraged the traffic generated from Pinterest. Pinterest delivered a 2.1% conversion rate to our eCommerce — which is considered high in this specific sector.
  6. Applied the 80/20 principle to every single task, achieving maximum results with minimal effort.

Results

  • Doubled the number of leads within the eCommerce platform in just 2 months, from 1,731 to 2,956.
  • Achieved top organic rankings (1st and 2nd positions), overtaking major competitors for most target keywords. Ranked for high-value keywords in the Italian market such as: angoliera antica (antique corner cabinet), mobili anni 60 (1960s furniture), mobili anni 70 (1970s furniture), and others.
  • Increased the number of resellers publishing products on the marketplace. By gaining visibility across multiple organic search results, we significantly boosted overall brand presence and product exposure.
